When I made Thor the movie had just come out and finding reference was very hard. The only reference I had was the action figure but action figures are constructed differently. So I used big cats like lions, panthers, and jaguars to construct him. Then I watched the movie 3 more times to get the mechanics on the Thanator down.
Don't worry. Thor may look like he can't support his head but he is actually hunting. He is hunting after Jake who jumped off the cliff. Underneath Thor's head is the waterfall cliff Jake jumped off. Which tells you how big this cat really is. Just in front of Thor's nose are Jake's footprints.
